Presential Seminary in Sevilla 10-12th October 2008
This year EFETAS'S presential seminary pretends a thorough reflection on a common and worrying practice: the substitution of the frame provided by religions of creeds and experiences of God by personal spirituality. The move goes from external to internal, from objective to subjective, from public to private ¿Are we doing a correct analysis? ¿Is there an opposition in these approaches? ¿Does every day life get affected by one or the other? Women experiences seem to confirm the existence of a problem with outcomes on life, nevertheless, the purpose of the seminary is to contras theory with practice.
The seminary will offer a presentation on some aspects of this debate treated by the different speakers but with the emphasis located on the discussion with the audience, something characteristic of the academic world that pretends to unite the social and political with the personal.

In response to an invitation from Elizabeth Schüssler Fiorenza, following her happy discovery of EFETA at the twelfth International ESWTR Conference (European Society of Women in Theological Research – Sociedad Europea de Mujeres investigadoras en Teología) in Naples (August 29 to September 3rd 2007) , two of us EFETA professors, Geraldina Céspedes and Lucía Ramón, went to San Diego from November 14-18th. Elisabeth Schüssler Fiorenza repeatedly asked Mercedes Navarro to present our school at the meeting of the Red de Redes de Teólogas Feministas de la Liberación promoted by Mary Hunt the co-founder of WATER, la Alianza de Mujeres para la Teología, la ética y los Rituales (www.hers.com/water) and herself. In our school she saw the realization of a dream she’d had since the 1970s: to create an independent, university type School for Feminist Theology and for this reason she did everything she could for us during our stay and sent us her warmest regards to bring back to everyone at the School.
Celebration in Sevilla: II Seminario Presencial de EFETA
A QUALITY AGENDA WITH FEMINIST THEMES
From the 22-24th of November we celebrated the second Seminario Presencial de la Escuela Feminista de Teología de Andalucía in Sevilla in collaboration with the International University of Andalusia and under the framework of the seminar: "From the sacred and the profane: Women behind, between and without borders" organized by the Chair of Italian Philology of the University of Sevilla.
Presentation of EFETA ESWTR in Napoles
From August 29th to September 2nd in Vico Equense (Naples) we celebrated the12th ESWTR Conference in which over 150 women from 25 countries, mostly European participated. Spain, with 31 women, was the country most represented. EFETA was represented by various professors, scientific committee members and the management board (10 in total).
